“Club 2011: CitySonic”, a festival of alternative live music in Tallinn on October 8th, 2011

CitySonic’s only international guests and one of the headliners come from Japan - an acclaimed indie-folk duo Tenniscoats. The duo will be accompanied by well-known Estonian experimental folk-artist Pastacas, to perform songs co-written in Japan this summer.

In addition to well-known and acclaimed groups the Estonian bands in programme also include fresh and promising acts which have just started to gain attention. The Estonian bands at CitySonic are 3 Pead (bright psychedelic “hippy-pop”), Brooklyn Candy Empire (brand new band of Opium Flirt’s Ervin Trofimov), ÖÄK (legendary melodic noise-duo), Bad Apples (indie-pop in 60s’ vein), Honey Power (90s influenced indie-rock from Tartu), Tolmunud Mesipuu (instrumental drone-trio), Kurjam (charming Estonian-singing punk-band), Talamak (instrumental prog-pop) and Lack of Eoins (exciting alt.rock from Viljandi).

The programme of CitySonic is compiled by four labels and promoters who have been active in Estonian music-underground for several years: Seksound (Estonia's most active indie-label), Eesti Pops (a record-label, also hosting popular radio-show at Radio 2), Odessa Pop (series of club-concerts with international bands) and Featuring (concert-series dedicated to alternative rock-music and punk).

Club2011 is an event-series in programme of European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011 aiming to present club- and alternative music scene of Tallinn to wider audience.

Tickets cost 7€ at www.piletilevi.ee  and 10€ at doors.
