„Grand Fragility“ – presents best of Estonian glass art

The main collection of the exhibition consists of specially made series and installations. Some of the best works and projects in glass art from the last year will also be presented, among the World of Glass, which is one of the projects that Tallinn Creative Hub continues to develop on international level.

The design of the exhibition will be created by Dutch artist Jan Scheernhoorn. He bases his work on the room itself that emerges as an integral part of the art work presented. Light designer Oliver Kulpsoo also uses completely unusual solutions for this exhibition.

In addition to the fragility of the material itself also some topics addressed by the artists involve fragility i.e. of the environment (Mare Saar, Ivo Lill), civilization (Rait Rääts), human soul (Kai Kiudsoo-Värv, Kati Kerstna); or the fragility of social order and architecture (Tiina Sarapu, Helena Kreem) – topics, that will be presented with the material epitome of fragility.
Glass will be presented in various ways – in its everyday, tense and controversial fragility that the artists face daily, talking about topics that touch them through the material and its most characteristic feature.
Tallinn Creative Hub keeps developing the combination of glass and music created in World of Glass in a new international network of artists and musicians.
The exhibition is a culmination for the international series of exhibitions „Estonian Glass“ that has been presented in Gernheim glass museum in Germany and Riihimäki glass museum in Finland.
