„Postimees“ is the official media partner of the European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011
The aim of the cooperation is to ensure the success of the year of capital of culture through marketing and advertising. The cooperation covers all media channels of Postimees AS like the daily paper Postimees, Postimees in Russian, Den za Dnjom as well as online publications Postimees.ee, Postimees.ru, Dzd.ee, E24.ee, Elu24.ee, Tarbija24.ee and Ilmajaam.ee.
„The cooperation agreement guarantees that the hundreds of partners of our official programme will have reliable channels to promote and market their events successfully,“ commented Jaanus Mutli, member of the board of Tallinn 2011 Foundation.
Erik Roose, director general of Postimees AS, explained that this agreement is a logical sequel to the marketing activities of a 150-year-old media company. „We are happy to be the supporter of such an outstanding event. Since years we have been supporting events that engage a large part of the population and most of our readers such as the song festival and mass sports events, and now also the year of European Capital of Culture in Tallinn,” said Erik Roose.
With this agreement Postimees has become the second major sponsor of the European Capital of Culture next to Estonian Air. “We are delighted about every supporter who is prepared to be part of this unique opportunity for Tallinn. The support of Estonian Air and Postimees proves that it is worth to believe in that project,” said Jaanus Mutli.
Today, on the 5th of November the readers of Postimees will also receive the new issue of the “Kultuuripealinn” – the weekly paper of the foundation Tallinn 2011 that focuses on culture sponsorship and describes examples of successful Estonian companies that consider supporting culture as a part of their marketing strategy. The paper is published in Estonian and can also be read in the web www.tallinn2011.ee/ajaleht.
