Lithuanian team wins Fire Sculpture Championship in Tallinn
The teams that made it to the finals were Russia (Leonid Kopeikin, Nikolai Dmitruk, Rashid Sagadejev); USA (Chuck Nafziger, Dave Hartz, Jon Zucker); Norway (Tor-Bjørn Gundersen, Kristoffer Jørgensen, Paul H Zylla); South-Korea (Ko Seonghyun, Kang Heejoon, Jeon Wongil); Latvia (Agris Dzilna, Uldis Balga, Solvita Zarina), Lithuania (Mindaugas Juneys, Evaldas Girkontas, Kestutis Musteikis) and Estonia (Reino Altrov, Lauri Tamm, Kai Kivi).
The winning Lithuanian team created a fire sculpture titled „Message“. Latvian team’s „Belman“ took the runner up title and Estonians’ „Capillary fish“ was awarded the third place.
The winner received a prize of 2500 Euros, second team 1500 and third 100 Euros.
The Ice Sculpture World Championship was curated by the creator of the Ice Sculptors’ Association Gunnar Carl Nilsson from Sweden
As part of „Fire and Ice“ festival on 23 January a snowman building event was held in Kadriorg with around 40 teams participating. The “snowman boulevard” will remain open until the snow melts!
