E-Stories.org has launched a storytelling competition website in cooperation with European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011 where everyone can post their short stories or poems. The main theme of the competition is „Stories of the Seashore“ that is also the main theme of the programme of Tallinn 2011.

European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011 will open an information centre in Rotermann Quarter

According to Jaanus Mutli, Member of the Board of the Foundation Tallinn 2011, the European Capital of Culture has been looking for a suitable location for the information point since last year. „One of the missions of the Capital of Culture is to open up the urban space through cultural activities and create new cultural environment,“ as he stresses. „Rotermanni is a very suitable area as it is fast becoming a new center for culture and entertainment in the heart of Tallinn.“

Norwegian festival celebrates Veljo Tormis

Veljo Tormis’ 80th birthday will be celebrated at the PUNKT festival from 2nd – 4th September in Norway. Music of Tormis will be presented by the mixed choir „Noorus“ conducted by Raul Talmar and Tormis will give a lecture about traditional runic songs. In 2011 Punkt festival will be also organised in Tallinn and this is a part of the international programme of European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011.
