European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011 will open an information centre in Rotermann Quarter

The information point will be located at the corner of Rosen and Ahtri streets. In addition the lobby area of the Rotermann shopping centre will be available for artist as an exhibition space. This location offers Tallinn 2011 also a noticable outdoor advertising space.

Triin Mägi, representing Rotermanni Quarter, finds that this area is at the heart of Tallinn and with its characteristic architecture is the best place for the information point of the Capital of Culture. It is located between the harbour and the old town. Nearly 7 million passangers enter Tallinn harbour every year and the Rotermanni Quarter is on their route to town centre.

Neeme Kari, the head of marketing and communications at Tallinn 2011 says that in addition to giving information about the Culture Capital events and selling souveniers, the shop at Rotermann will also be a meeting point for programme partners and guests as well as a venue for presentations and workshops. „It will also be the new centre for Tallinn 2011 volunteers“, added Kari.
