NO99 Straw Theatre opens its doors for one final time

To mark this day NO99 Straw Theatre will open all doors on Saturday from 12-17 and invites everyone to visit the theatre for one last time. NO99 team members will present the rooms – both the black box theatre hall as well as architecturally exciting offices that have been hidden from the public so far.

As always the public space around the Straw Theatre will be open – park, café, library, playgrounds, swings and the machine that translates human language to bird talk. It is the last chance to experience this original space installation that has attracted lots of international attention. After Saturday the doors of the Straw Theatre will close for good, during the coming months it will be dismantled.

NO99 Straw Theatre is an installation of straw based on the idea of Ene-Liis Semper on Skoone bastion, that is surrounded by public space and that has been a stage for numerous reputable artists throughout five months: Gob Squad, Nature Theatre of Oklahoma, She She Pop, NO99, Volksbühne, Samuel Finzi, Sebastian Nübling and many others.

The building was designed by architecture bureau Salto. The building is temporal. It was erected this spring, it will be dismantled this autumn.

NO99 Straw Theatre was created as part of the programme of European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011.
