”We have invited to the festival best Estonian bands every year that have been sticking out in Latvia – good examples this time are Iiris and Ewert and The Two Dragons –, but we think that the presence of Estonian and Lithuanian bands should be larger and the cooperation between the music industry of our countries stronger. The cooperation with Tallinn Music Week is very positive,” comments Girts Majors, the organiser of Positivus festival.
Tallinn Music Week participates at Positivus Festival together with European Capital of Culture and the team of Katel, to introduce to Latvian public Estonian music and the plans and perspectives of Tallinn 2011 foundation as well as a new open creative centre – Katel that is looking for international cooperation partners.
”The fact, that 9 Estonian bands perform at the largest festival in Latvia is a proof that Estonian music is attracting more and more interest every year and many artists have been invited to important festivals in Europe in the autumn,” comments Tallinn Music Week organiser Helen Sildna.
